I think the term Pashtank in Delaware came  from the Paxton Boys, a 
vigilante group, who murdered many members of  the Susquehannok tribe in 1763.  
This was certainly known to the  Delawares.
 
Interestingly some Delaware men where known  to have traveled to the 
northwest in the 1800s and married into tribes there as  Phil CashCash knows.
