Plan to preserve endangered languages

Charged with the task of keeping endangered languages alive,
Aboriginal language teachers from across the State spent most of their
school holiday break at a training course in Perth.

Education Department Aboriginal languages co-ordinator Lola Jones said
it was important for children to be exposed to languages that belonged
to the area in which they lived.

"It's part of Australia's linguistic heritage," she said.
