Bernadette,
I share your concerns. Its been said by our elders one of the reasons we
keep our ceremonies and ceremonial songs private
allowing no filming or photographs is because they are beautiful and its
too tempting for outsiders to snatch at them...to imitate,to modernize
for self promotional reasons or make mockery out of them. These rites are
some of the few things we still possess that hasn't been stolen away
completely.
Why should we feel guilty for wanting to keep them private?
