institute offered by both The University of British

Fraser University <http://sfu.ca>
*The Program*
Come participate in a 5-day UBC/SFU summer institute, delivered by leading
scholars exploring how technology, as a particular regard for tools and
techniques, reflects a state of consciousness that bears on our ideas of
learning. These questions involve educational issues of:
- Culture and History,
- Language and Knowledge,
- Identity and Difference.
This program provides a rich platform for ongoing research to be shared and
built upon by engaging with *students*, *faculty*, and *community members*.
Each day has its own theme and instructor(s), and is accompanied by an

Participation is available for credit (graduate or undergrad level) as well
as non-credit. Pre-registration is required to attend the classes, but not
for the afternoon lectures which are free and open to the public.

*For Credit:* Registration is available at graduate or undergraduate level
in this 3-credit course. The Western Deans'
