First nations in B.C. will mark National Aboriginal Day today by launching
a new website in partnership with Google aimed at preserving indigenous
languages.

The Google Endangered Languages Project website was created by a committee
of language experts and Google staff, according to the First Peoples'
Cultural Council, which chairs the committee and will oversee the project.

The website www.endangeredlanguages.com, which is set to launch today at 9
a.m. PT, will invite language experts from around the world to post videos,
audio clips, books and other publications.
