ROC President Ma Ying-jeou said aboriginal culture and language have a
major role to play in maintaining Taiwan’s diversity, as he launched the
2013 International Austronesian Conference Nov. 2 in Taipei City.

“Cultural diversity is like ecological diversity,” Ma said. “The more
diverse culture is, the better it flourishes. The government will continue
to protect and promote aboriginal culture and language.”
