Well, Renfrew does not have IE originating in Greece and in fact he does not
even need to assert IE languages were spoken throughout Greece for the whole
neolithic period. Herodutus tells us that non-Greek was being spoken in his
time. It's been nearly 500 years since the first native American names were
adopted into european languages, but native American languages are still
being spoken.
There is also the question whether the place names are non-IE or just
non-Greek.
