Sociolinguistic questions:

-- Is there any evidence as to when Etruscan ceased to be a spoken
language? Did it go through a phase of being used as a written
language for more 'traditional' uses, while not spoken, much as Latin
was in later times?

-- Is there any indication of the uses of written Etruscan beyond
what has survived? For example, do any Roman writers mention written
Etruscan in the form of manuscripts or such?
