Polish kura is from all-Slavic *kur7 probably meaning "rooster, cock >
penis". It's probably of onomatopoeic origin, although there have been some
comparisons of Slavic *kur7va (< *kur7) "whore" with that eng. word - whore,
(Germ. Hüre) which is very doubtful.
