Just briefly, yes: what I am asserting is that the morphemes used
in conjugation are very resistant to borrowing. External influence, if this
is "non-sound", is another matter. I see no reason to imagine that speakers
of a given Language A might not somehow create in some Language B an ending
to correspond with something in Language A, if feeling the lack of such a
thing Language B, though I cannot think of any examples at the moment. This
would not affect genetic descent.
