Red Deer in Anatolia

I suspect there is no such word.  In the IE languages most relevant - those
where the fallow may have been present natively - the red deer and fallow
deer were one thing -  a deer.  Ockham's Razor.  Do not multiply entities
needlessly.

But in Anatolian languages there is no distinction made between fallow and
red.  Ergo, the presence or absence of the fallow (or red) tells us nothing.
Wherever the *PIE homeland was - whether it had fallow or red deer or both -
a deer was probably just a deer.  Much as it is today.  (Except of course
today in America, where the red deer is not a deer.)
