tasks for eliciting REQUESTS

Dear info-childes subscribers:

We are planning on a cross-cultural study on the requestive
language of preschool children. We would like to find out about
techniques and tasks that people found useful in eliciting request-
like speech acts from young children.  We are currently
considering: (1) role-play-type tasks, where children voice requests
for others, and (2) tasks that would require the children to issue
their own requests.
