Favorite Book?

I've recently offered my undergraduate students "extra credit" for reading
a popular book (not a textbook), either fiction or nonfiction, that has a
focus on children's communication, normal or abnormal.  They will then
write a book report, comparing "info" in the book with what we are
learning in class and with our course reading list.

Do you have a favorite book with a child communication theme?  I'd love to
offer choices to students and expand my summer reading!
