One of my students is interested in cue competition in sentence processing
in Japanese. Cues of interest are: argument order, and presence
(vs. omission) of case-marking particles. Does anyone know if any work
has been done on this topic in Japanese (similar to that in MacWhinney &
Bates 1989)? She would be most grateful for any leads. You can reply to
me or directly email Masako Izutani, mizutani at hawaii.edu.
