Database of Oral L2 Corpora: German, Spanish, English
As part of a research project at the University of Southampton in the UK, we
have constructed a database of French Learner Language Oral Corpora:
www.flloc.soton.ac.uk. This web-based database contains a range of corpora
of learners at various levels, and includes digital soundfiles and
transcripts in CHAT format (the CHILDES transcription system) of all the
data, as well as morphosyntactic outputs for most of the transcripts. All
the data is freely downloadable from the site (provided the ground rules are
adhered to).
We are now considering extending the database to other languages, initially
German, Spanish and English, and would like to know how much interest there
is in the SLA community for databases of this kind. If you are interested,
please fill in the details below, and return to F.J.Myles at soton.ac.uk, by 12
November 2004.
