BTW:   there are now some lightweight ear-mounted mics on the market,
i.e. like the ones for cell phones, but with a normal jack.  For adults,
I've been told they are unobtrusive to the user and avoid issues of
noise from clothing, breathing, etc.   Obviously not suitable for
little children, but might work for some larger ones.   I'm not
sure.   But I thought I'd pass it on.
