Position:  Project Coordinator – Full time, The University of Delaware
School of Education

Starting date:  As soon as possible

Project:  Developing Number Sense in Kindergartners at Risk for Mathematics
Learning Difficulties.  This is a 5-year research project, funded by the
National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.  The goal is to
develop and test an evidence-based number sense and vocabulary intervention
for young children.

We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, and organized professional to
assist with the daily operations of the project.  Initial employment is for
one year and is renewable annually up to four years.  The position will
involve coordinating with the participating school district, assisting with
the development of the number sense curriculum, coordinating graduate
assistants, participating in data collection, managing our data and website,
and collaborating with the team on research papers for publication and
presentation.

The qualified candidate should possess:

·      Bachelor's degree minimum in education, psychology, or a related
field

·      Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills

·      Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

·      Competence with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SPSS (or other
statistical packages)

·      Ability to use and learn new technology

·      Past experience with and interest in research

·      Strong communication skills, both oral and written

·      Experience working with young children

·      Expertise or interest in children's math, language. and learning
difficulties
