Department chair position at Boston University

Applications are invited for *Department Chair* in the Boston University
Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences department.  Review will begin 12/1/08
and continue until the position is filled. Candidates must have an earned
doctorate with a research specialty in one of the communication sciences or
disorders. The chair has a 10-month appointment and is responsible for
strategic planning as well as the interface between the department and the
college administration. In collaboration with the clinic and program
directors, the department chair will lead the teaching, research and service
of the faculty. We are looking for a chair who has the ability to attract
and mentor under-represented minorities. Strong communication skills and
leadership experience are required. Faculty success in obtaining external
funding is also important for the department's goals. Applications should
include a curriculum vita and a letter of interest explaining the
applicant's career goals. Three current letters of recommendation should be
sent under separate cover. Applications may be held in confidence at the
