IASCL: Call for nominations for the Triennial Roger Brown Award

Dear info-CHILDES members,

The Officers and Executive Committee of IASCL (International
Association for the Study of Child Language) have agreed to set up a
triennial ‘Roger Brown Award’ to be presented at the Congress of the
Association.  The award is for outstanding contributions to the field
of child language acquisition, particularly those that have advanced
knowledge through methodological innovation (experimental or
analytical) and/or those that have helped the research community to
work together effectively.

The award will consist of an engraved shield to be presented at the
Triennial Congress by the President, and of the Congress fee.
Additional travel/accommodation support to allow the recipient to
attend the Congress will be considered if necessary, to be decided by
the selection committee.

Nominations should reach the President (Elena Lieven:
lieven at eva.mpg.de) by no later than 9am, Central European Time, on
Tuesday 2nd December, 2010.

Nominations:
(1) The reasons for the nomination should be stated in a paragraph of
no more than 500 words, should be accompanied by the CV of the nominee
and by the signatures of the nominators.

(2) Nominations must be supported by at least 5 members of IASCL not
more than one coming from the same institution as the nominee and not
more than two from the same country.


The decision will be taken by a 3-person selection committee
consisting of the President and two people from the elected
representatives to be chosen by the President. The three members of
this committee must be from different countries and institutions.
