Hi, Kathleen
I urge you to look at Daniela O'Neill's Language Use Inventory (Knowledge in Development, inc. 2009). It is a parent questionnaire and I am using it with a similar population to yours. Parents are happy to complete it and it gives some really useful qualitative information. The scoring system has not been set up to be used with delayed populations, but that does not detract from the value of the information.
Cheers,
Susan

Subject: Pragmatics Assessment
Dear Colleagues,
I am wondering if anyone has used/developed a parent report (brief) of young children's (4-6 year olds) social use of language in the home. I am carrying out an intervention with children with language impairment, and would like to assess their pre- and post-intervention use of language in the home (it is also being measured observationally in the classroom). I would like the parents' perspectives in a fairly user-friendly and brief questionnaire.
Thanks so much for any ideas.
