                ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPANISH

    Tenure-track, starting 8/99. Ph.D. by 8/99;
specialization in translation and interpretation or Latin
American women writers. Interest in language for special
purposes and instructional technology desirable. Scholarship
essential for tenure and promotion. Demonstrated excellence
in teaching; knowledge of proficiency-oriented instruction
and assesment important. Expected to teach graduate courses
as well as undergraduate language and literature courses.
Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.
