    The Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies
wishes to repeat its call for papers for a 2-day
conference on "Globalisation and the Luso-Hispanic World"
to take place at the University of New South Wales,
Sydney, Australia, on 11 and 12 November, 1999.

    The conference will be multidisciplinary and invites
papers written under the umbrella of globalisation and on
current issues in the histories, cultures, politics and
linguistics of Spain, Portugal and the Americas, as well
as on the changing nature of the disciplines that study
them. Papers may be given in Spanish, Portuguese or
English.

    Papers should aim at being no longer than 30 minutes
in length. Offers of papers, including a title and
100-word outline, should be made to Dr. Stephen Gregory by
fax (61-2-9385-1172) or e-mail <s.gregory at unsw.edu.au> by
17 SEPTEMBER 1999.

    Further details about registration, accommodation,
keynote speakers and programming will be posted or sent to
interested individuals as soon as possible.
