Applications are invited for this newly established Chair in the
Department of Languages, in the Faculty of Education and Language
Studies. The department was formerly the Universitys Centre for Modern
Languages. The department is the largest provider of distance language
learning at Higher Education level in the UK and is actively developing
new modes of electronic teaching in its programmes.
Candidates will be expected to have a distinguished research and
teaching record in the field, proven administrative ability and a
commitment to collaborative working. An ability to communicate at native
or near-native standard in a European language other than English will
be essential.
