   Tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Spanish. Applied
Linguistics with background in theoretical linguistics desirable.
Contribute to MA program in pedagogy through course offerings,
curricular planning, and direction of 15 TAs. Oversee elementary
language program and work with Language Resource Center to increase use
of instructional technology by faculty and TAs. PhD by
September 2002, active research agenda with strong promise for continued
scholarship, demonstrated excellence in undergraduate
language teaching.

   Ohio University is a Research II institution, enrolling 19,500
students on the Athens campus and more than 8,000 students on five
regional campuses. The College of Arts and Sciences includes 340 tenured
and tenure-track faculty members and contains 19
departments, 7 of which offer the doctoral degree. For further
