Oferta de una plaza de investigador en la Universidad Europea, dentro
del proyecto Advanced Long-distance Learning Education System (ALLES)

A predoctoral research position will be available at the Universidad
Europea de Madrid (Department of Translation and Interpreting,
http://www.uem.es/traduccion ) on the ALLES project, funded by the EU
Framework V IST Programme. The position will be available from January
2003, for twelve months (with foreseen contract extension until the
end of the project, May 2005).

ALLES main objective is the design and implementation of an
autonomous, long-distance, second-language learning system for
advanced learners, incorporating the latest developments in NLP tools
and CALL. The system is thought for English, German, Spanish and
Catalan in the field of Economy. More information about the project is

The predoctoral research position will involve:
- designing CALL units for implementation in ALLES
- familiarity with theoretical and computational linguistics
- GUI design

The position requires a person with experience in language processing,
software technology for interface construction and customisation of
web technologies for CALL applications. The successful candidate will
also show a good command of English (both oral and written).

Salary will be negotiated with the candidate, depending on
qualifications and experience.
