[LAP] Why not to miss ICLAP 2020

Dear all,

As the International Conference of the Linguistic Association of Pakistan
(ICLAP) this year is going to be held online, some people are confused how
the event would in fact be held and whether it is worth participating or
not. There are actually a number of good reasons you should strive to be
part of the conference by submitting your paper abstract until the deadline
which is just drawing near. Following points will answer many of your
plausible queries/confusions:

i) By participating you will have the exposure of how an international
event is held online.
ii) It will make you learn how to prepare for online presentations and
boost your confidence to do the same in future.
iii) More than ten reputed international scholars will deliver their
speeches and conduct workshops in the conference. Many of the invited talks
will be on South Asian languages and linguistics.
iv) You will have the opportunity to interact with the international
scholars and learn from them. It will help you orient your research
endeavour in the right direction.
v) Renowned linguists and language scholars of the country will make a
panel discussion over the issues and challenges faced by students and
graduates of linguistics in the country.
vi) Due to online mode of the event you will have to pay a lesser
registration fee than usual.
vii) Authors will have the option to send their recorded presentations
which will be run in the scheduled slots in the conference. They will,
however, be expected to appear online in the question/answer session in the
real time.
viii) The LAP has the plan to launch its youtube channel to which the
conference presentations will be added with the consent of authors.
ix) The conference abstract book and the certificates of presentation will
be sent via courier.
x) In case of many registered participants and limitations of the platform
(Zoom or so), presenters of the conference will be given preference to be
part of the plenary sessions, workshops and the panel discussion.
xi) Registered presenters will have the chance to be invited in the LAP
subsequent subevents.
xii) The team is ready to help you at each and every step from submission
to registration to presentation.
