[LAP] Request for Support for Study Participants

Dear venerable educators and researchers,

With Dr. Ghulam Raza’s permission, I’m writing to request your participation in my project.

My name is Saima Nomaan, and I am a doctoral postgraduate researcher at the University of Exeter’s, Doctor of Education in TESOL (Ed.D.) programme in the UK.  I am kindly requesting the English faculty’s participation in the doctoral research study that I am conducting titled: Professional Development for E-Learning and Instructional Technology: Perspectives of Higher Education ELT faculty in Pakistan.

My intention is to:

  *   find out the important features of the faculty professional development programmes related to educational technology (Ed-Tech) and E-learning in universities in Pakistan
  *   explore the thoughts, feelings, and experiences of English language teachers in higher education about their professional development training related to E-Learning and teaching with technology
  *   explore the motivation of faculty to engage in such PD and the relationship between this PD training and faculty promotions
  *   investigate if there is a need for reform in the current PD system and the Ed-Tech and E-learning related PD programmes need to be redesigned

The study involves completing one online survey, one online interview and completing one Blob Tree drawing. For the start, I need at least 300 surveys from Pakistani higher education ELT faculty. I have only 63 completed surveys so far and 148 incomplete ones. Since the survey is completely anonymous, there’s no way of following up with the participants who didn’t complete. Therefore, I greatly need your support. Please complete yourself if you haven’t already, and distribute the attached survey participant request among your faculty, colleagues, and friends, or contacts in KPK and Balochistan and encourage them to participate in the study. I will truly appreciate your support in this. Many thanks in advance.

The survey is around 25-30 minutes long and comes with an incentive for the participant (mentioned in the attached pdf.) as a token of thanks for spending time on my survey. Your support will greatly help me collect the invaluable required data.
