[Lexicog] running Shoebox AND Toolbox

This weekend, I ported a Shoebox lexicon using an 8-bit encoding over to
Unicode.  To verify that the conversion had worked correctly, I tried to
simultaneously run the old dictionary file in Shoebox and the new one in
Toolbox, so I could compare the displays.  I can't.

If Shoebox is running, Toolbox won't start up, and vice versa.  It's
very odd, as TB and SB are installed in different directories, the two
lexicons are in different directories, with different .prj and .typ
files, etc.

Does anyone know of a work-around (short of running the two programs on
two different computers)?
