from David Frank:
I have now put a little more about our St. Lucian Kweyol dictionary on the
internet. You could go to www.saintluciancreole.org and click on the image
of the dictionary front cover to go to the page that gives more information,
or you could skip a step and go directly to
http://linguafranka.net/saintluciancreole/dictionaryintro.htm. In either
case, you will see a larger picture of the cover of the dictionary and the
text of the introduction, which includes a sample entry. When I get a
chance, I will put more from the dictionary on the internet, possibly in PDF
format. In fact, I hope to put the whole dictionary on the internet in PDF
format, but I will have to experiment with that a while first.
I could experiment with XML format, but I understand even less about that
than I do about PDF. I could most easily put the dictionary into HTML. It
might be good for us to dialogue some about the best format for dictionaries
on the internet.
With PDF, I believe there is an option to keep the text from being copyable.
When putting an entire book in print on the internet, is copying something I
should be concerned about? (Not that anyone is making a profit on the
publicaton, in this case.)
