Bill, I can understand the problem some people might have with stored sort
handles if they want to change the sort order. That wasn't an issue for us.
I don't understand the other point you were making about multiple sort
keys/handles.

As for the tedium of constructing sort handles, I had a routine that
constructed them automatically. I only had to change them under certain
circumstances. For me, it is ideal to take care of (I almost said "handle")
sorting automatically for the most part but have the flexibility to tamper
with it sometimes, without going through elaborate measures to write a
programming routine for every possible circumstance.
