[Lexicog] WordNet (was Cheyenne dictionary: the jury's verdict)

Hi Wayne,

    Yes, I do. There is a Russian gent by the name of Constantine.

    He was experimenting with WordNet, as were some people at
the University of Indiana. I believe, however, that Constantine might
be able to give you some direction on its uses. It has been awhile
since I looked at the stuff, but I thought Princeton staff were also
utilizing WordNet for cross-system language support. I shall rummage
through my files and references and see what else I can come up
with. Try Constantine first, however. I am sure he could help you
out.

I also posted that link in the Links / Software section of our Lexicography
List website (address at the bottom of each posted list message).

WordNet installed and works nicely on my computer, but so far, I don't see
how WordNet can be customized to any language other that English for which
it was designed, and which is the language of its interesting database. Do
you happen to know if some Siouanists have been able to import Siouan
language data to some version of WordNet?
