[Lexicog] Turkey

One I have enjoyed for years, though I'm not sure if it is rightfully to
be called a pun, was advice given on the radio on the topic of "How to
prepare your turkey for Thanksgiving Dinner". The gist of it was that
you should break it to him gently, something like "Tom, are you religious?"
So is that a pun on the word "prepare", or not?
