Dear Tommaso,
If you define a new language with your letters in order from z to a then
you can apply that language to the field you want to sort and it will be
sorted from z to a.
if you want to sort from the end of the word to the front, then go to
Database/sort and check the box (sort first field from end)
If you want to sort Chinese, you can introduce a second sort field with
Roman characters and define a sort order for it so that you can sort the
Chinese ideograms in whatever way you specify in the sort field.
Shoebox only works on Text so you will have to save the xls files as text
first. They will also need standard format markers starting with a \.

Dear all,



I would like to know a couple of things about Shoebox:

1. is it possible to view, sort and do what I want to the lexemes according
to an inverse order, that means, like a book of rhymes, from the last
letter to the first? Is it possible also working with non-alphabetic
languages like Chinese? That would be quite interesting for studying
morphological roots and quasi-suffixes.

2. is it possible to import data from .xls files or should I try to
transform them into some other type of file?
