That's a funny picture, Fritz. Even if you didn't expect a reply, I'd say that if the temperature was hot when the picture was taken, it would be a picture of hot dogs. And it's also a picture of hotdog dogs. Since it is a frontal picture I, personally, wouldn't refer to "hotdog buns" or "hot dog buns" being in the picture, with "buns" having the more recent meaning referring to the buttocks. But if we can separate the buns from a hotdog, then, again, if the temperature is hot we might have "hot dog buns" and, for sure, "hotdog buns."
I can tell you that those are not weiner dogs!
