[Lexicog] Publishing a dictionary on CD-ROM

Hi all,

I wonder if anybody on this list could make recommendations or share their own experience of producing CD-ROM dictionaries? My organization maintains a large bilingual dictionary on-line (www.focal.ie) and we are looking at the possibility of publishing an off-line version for users who do not have (permanent) access to the Internet.

Basically, we'd like to find a software program we could redistribute along with our dictionary on a CD. It should install with minimum fuss, work on all common platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux), have a localizable user interface, have smart search facilities, be able to digest a *lot* of data (our current database contains over 130,000 entries) and have a data structure flexible enough to be able to accommodate our data. Our current on-line solution is a custom-made database implemented in Microsoft SQL Server.

So... anybody know of something they could recommend? This is a completely new territory for us, and instead of having to develop our own software, we are prepared to pay if the package is right.

Any suggestions will be very welcome!
