It matters not from what language a word entered English-much less what it
might have

meant in the original language.  Unless the word in English is insulting
(e.g., squaw, Eskimo),

the English word closest in meaning should be used with appropriate native
references to

identify it properly.  In other words, what the SIL writer said.
