Sure, Neal,
Everyone likes to be remembered.
A bit of poking around on the internet found this:
Someone asking what the difference was between a flash drive and Jump drive.
Answer:
1. "Flash Drives" and "JumpDrives" are the SAME. Period.
Some companies like to use different marketing names for their products, but
ultimately they are the same fundamental products. Lexar often likes to call
them JumpDrives. Other common names are "USB <http://club.cdfreaks.com/>
Flash Memory Drives" and "Thumb Drives." Many sales guys are clueless and
don't know a thing. Walk into Worst Buy and it's the blind leading the
blind.
Jump drive
Also known as a USB flash drive and thumb drive, a jump drive is a portable
<http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/p/portabil.htm> drive
<http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/d/drive.htm> that is often the size of
your thumb that connects to the computer USB

available in various sizes including but not limited to 256MB, 512MB, 1GB,
5GB, 16GB, and beyond and are widely used as an easy and small way to
transfer <http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/t/transfer.htm> AND store
<http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/s/store.htm> information from their
computer.
Greetings, Fritz
