This discussion of "luggable" computers reminds me of the stories about
legendary field worker John Peabody Harrington's "portable"
aluminum disc recorder, which was portable in the sense that a strong
young man could carry it: it weighed 150 pounds. (One of Harrington's
assistants apparently once carried the thing across a rope bridge.)
