I may be confused, but it seems to me that what ain't broke is getting
fixed repeatedly, while what _is_ broke hasn't been mentioned.
If the goal is to distribute the processed (pdf, doc) output of Lexique
Pro or any of the various *box tools, there are dozens of sites able to
do so. Put it in the Internet Archive and within a week, 100 content
farms and aggregators will have done their job.
The same goes for distributing the underlying data files. I might
single out the SIL PNG site for doing an excellent job of both:
http://www.sil.org/pacific/png/show_subject.asp?pubs=online&code=DAV
On the other hand, as far as I can tell there is no Linux software able
to provide an on-line search interface to the Lexique Pro or *box data files
(not to mention FLEx, LMF, or (unrestricted) TEI) -- although I understand
quite well that for any expressive notation this isn't a trivial problem: as
Piotr notes "... practically depending only on the complexity of the source" !
But it does seem to me that a simple web interface for Lexique Pro
dictionary viewing/searching (not building) is doable, and is really what
the original poster is after. My arms stand ready to hold somebody's coat.
