Dear all:
Last week I posted a summary of what I got as a result of my inquiry on
monotonicity. Unfortunately, some responses arrived after that (or even as
reactions to the summary). The following are the last (after sevaral days
of silence) results I was sent. I thank Hans-Joerg Tiede, Raul Aranovich
and Nancy Smith for their helpful suggestions.
##Hans-Joerg Tiede pointed to the following works:
Westerstahl, D. (1995), "Quantifiers in Natural Language. A Survey of
Some Recent Work", in: M. Krynicki [et al.] (eds.) (1995), Quantifiers:
Logics, Models and Computation, Vol.1: Kluwer.
Keenan, E. and D. Westerstahl (forthcoming), "Generalized Quantifiers in
Linguistics and Logic", in: J. van Benthem and A. ter Meulen (eds.)
(forthcoming), Handbook of Logic and Language. Elsevier Science Publ.
Also, for some completeness theorems:
Barwise, J. (1978), "Monotone Quantifiers and Admissible Sets", in:
Generalized Recursion Theory II. North Holland.
Keisler, J. "Logic with the Quantifier There Exist Uncountably Many", in:
Annals of Mathematical Logic 1.
And finally the articles on GQs in: Barwise, J and J. Feferman (eds.)
(1985), model Theoretic Logics. Springer.
