FW: LFG Question

Folks,
I would like to know if it would be plausible in LFG to have an
f-structure verb, e.g. 'to say', which has no c-structure position, i.e.
more or less how (I understand that) LFG treats null pronouns. To give a
hypothetical example, something like:
John ... 'Bill would come tomorrow'.
Where there is a null verb 'to say' but the only things one actually
hears are the subject and complement of this verb.
If so, is there any publicly available work on this that someone could
direct me to?
Thanks,
Dan Everett
