Funding opportunities for one-month research visits to EUI Library,
Florence (Italy)
The EUI Library invites applications from PhD candidates and post-doctoral
researchers, for one-month paid research missions to Florence. The EUI's
academic disciplines are: Law; Political and Social Sciences; Economics,
History and European Studies.
The new closing date for receipt of applications for funded research
missions to the European University Institute Library, is 22 February 2002.

schedule their visits for the period April 2002 to early 2003.
The EUSSIRF initiative is now issuing its fourth call for research
proposals. Applicants must be a citizen of an EU or an Associated State AND
working in an EU or an Associated State (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the
Republic of Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Latvia,
Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia).
EUSSIRF provides the opportunity for European researchers in the social
sciences to gain access to the collections, resources and services of its
library. Short-term research visits usually lasting one month, will benefit
from:
- a substantial financial contribution toward travel and living expenses
(up to 1800 Euros)
- help with finding local accomodation
- expert assistance in exploiting the EUI's collections and resources
- training in new research technologies
- integration into the wider academic life of the EUI through affiliation
with the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies.
The application form should be downloaded from the EUSSIRF, Florence site
and sent to the EUSSIRF office by post (address below), with supporting
materials, to arrive before 6pm on the 22nd of February 2002.
The European Union Social Science Information Research Facility (EUSSIRF,
Florence) is a Research Infrastructure for Social Scientists, located in
Florence and financed by the Training and Mobility of Researchers Programme
of the European Commission.
A similar programme (EUSSIRF, London) is also operated by the library of the
London School of Economics (The British Library of Political and Economic
