Snopes.com, which investigates all those urban legends floating around
your Inbox, has determined that this is not a hoax or a legend, but a
true story. Anyone who has installed a hard drive in a computer knows
that drives can be marked "master" or "slave" depending on their
configuration. LA county has asked vendors not to use this terminology.
