announces its
2004 International Conference
on
LANGUAGE and POLITICS
September 29-October 2, 2004

ASG, with the participation of Baruch College of the City University of New
York, will hold an international conference on LANGUAGE and POLITICS and will
as usual publish the Proceedings of the Conference. You are invited to submit
soon a proposal for a 15-minute paper to be read at the conference (expandable
for printing to 15 singe-spaced typewritten pages, including Works Cited) to
Prof. Wayne H. Finke, Baruch College, Modern Languages, B6-280, New York, NY
10010, or via e-mail at wayne_finke at baruch.cuny.edu
Deadline for proposals for papers for the October conference is August 1, 2004,
but because of the great interest in these scholarly meetings, send your
proposal by e-mail or airmail as soon as possible. The registration fee of US
$75.00 (US $45.00 for students and retired scholars) includes the daily
refreshments, a gala luncheon, a wine and cheese reception, and a printed copy
of the Proceedings. Special reduced rates are available at a nearby hotel if
you register early. For further information on suitable topics or other
