Shops rally marks Language Act campaign switch Dec 3 2005
Gareth Morgan, Western Mail
THE drive for a new Welsh Language Act reaches a head in Carmarthen today
as campaigners call at shops asking them to adopt a bilingual policy. The
rally signifies the end of a period of direct action by Welsh language
society Cymdeithas yr Iaith against the policy of the Welsh Assembly
Government. Catrin Dafydd, chair of Cymdeithas's New Welsh Language Act
group, said the group will now focus on political lobbying.
