INTRODUCTION
Language learning and teaching now face a myriad of challenges.
Educators are not only knowledge feeders but they also have to ensure
the strategies and approaches adopted in the classrooms are in tandem
with the learners' current needs. The need to analyze, modify and
revamp the actual current teaching methods and approaches should be
considered if objectives are not met. Putting some soul and zest in
the learning and teaching of languages will redefine the directions of
success in the language learning and teaching.
The core concern of UPALS is rejuvenating the passion for teaching and
learning of languages. Academicians, researchers, administrators and
language policy-makers can reflect on and share pertinent ideas,
experiences and research findings to overcome the challenges and
define the future directions of language teaching and learning.
OBJECTIVES
To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, know-how and research
findings on current educational scenarios and trends related to
language learning and teaching.
To provide a platform to disseminate knowledge and information related
to the planning, organization and management of language learning and
teaching.
To provide a meaningful meeting point for teachers and alike to engage
in intellectual discourse in forming a discourse community with
similar knowledge, language and goals.
To provide an arena for identifying the challenges, needs and possible
future directions of language learning and teaching.
