Try B. Brown, "The social consequences of writing Louisiana French"
Lge in Society, 1993, 22, 67-101. She references her dissertation in
that article as well. Standardization does not necessarily combat lge
loss, you'll find. Ladin is a very interesting case. C B Paulston
