Asikhulume! African languages for all
Article by Michel Lafon (INALCO-UMR 8135 Cnrs-France &
IFAS-Johannesburg), on the need to align all government and
state-aided schools in terms of language policy in South Africa. Such
a move is a condition to break the association of the use of African
languages as LoL/T with poverty-stricken communities, low quality
education and failure, and hence pave the way for an effective
transformation of the whole system which would be in the interest of
the majority and pursuance of equity. First published in: Les Nouveaux
Cahiers de l'IFAS/ IFAS Working Paper 11 - August 2008. [Full Text
