Disney sees big market for schools venture in China

Walt Disney, the international media and entertainment giant, has
opened its first English language school in Shanghai in a bid to break
into China's growing English language education market.

The school opened its doors at the end of September with classes for
children aged two to 11 taught by teachers recruited from North
America and local bilingual teaching assistants.

According to a survey conducted by Disney, Shanghai parents are
willing to spend up to 20% of their annual income - more than $1,000 -
on their children's English-language learning.
