Pressure to teach in English grows
Yoon Yeon-mo, a 50-year-old female English teacher at Sorabol High
School in northern Seoul, has been taking a course to obtain a
certificate called Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at
a university in Seoul since last month.
It may seem bizarre for a person who already teaches English to obtain
yet another certificate. But she confesses she had to improve her
English to teach students whose English is as good as that of native
speakers.
